Vegan Dog Food
More and more owners wonder whether their dog can eat healthily without meat. Vegan dog food is a completely plant-based alternative to traditional dog food: hypoallergenic, free from animal proteins and suitable for dogs with food allergies or intolerances to meat or fish. At OnlyFresh you will find TrovetPlus Hypoallergenic Vegetable, the only fully plant-based, clinically validated dog food in our range.
When is vegan dog food a good choice?
Vegan dog food is not necessary for every dog, but can be a real solution for:
- Dogs allergic to chicken, beef, lamb or fish
- Dogs with chronic skin problems or itching without a clear cause
- Dogs that repeatedly react to animal protein sources
- Owners consciously choosing a more sustainable diet for their dog
Always have a food allergy confirmed by your vet via an elimination diet before switching definitively to vegan food.

Frequently asked questions about vegan dog food
Can a dog live healthily on vegan food?
Yes, as long as the food is complete and balanced and meets nutritional guidelines. TrovetPlus Hypoallergenic Vegetable is clinically tested and contains all the nutrients your dog needs. Always consult your vet before switching.
Does vegan dog food help with skin allergies?
For dogs whose allergy is caused by an animal protein (chicken, beef, fish), vegan food can significantly reduce symptoms. It eliminates all animal protein sources at once, making it a great starting point for an elimination diet.
How long does it take to see improvement in my allergic dog?
For a food allergy, it generally takes 6 to 12 weeks for your dog's skin to fully renew and for you to see improvement. Perseverance is important, so do not change food again during this period.
